Winger ANDROS TOWNSEND says it's vital Crystal Palace see off their next opponents Leicester City in order to beat the drop.
Palace increased the gap above the relegation places to six points after an amazing 3-0 win at home to Arsenal on Monday night, with TOWNSEND netting the opening goal.
The former Newcastle player reckons 40 points is the target for safety, which means the Eagles need to pick up two more wins, and they come no bigger than a match-up with the current Premier League champions.
"The three points [against Arsenal] were massive. Especially with the run-in we have got, to pick up wins against Chelsea and Arsenal is incredible, and it will help us to the total of 40 points.
"We would have taken a scruffy 1-0, but to win 3-0 and in the manner we did was great. We just have to follow it up on Saturday now against Leicester.
"We have still got incredibly difficult games to come so we are not getting carried away. If we can beat Leicester then things are looking good, but we are not looking beyond that."
He added: "It is about doing our job, and if we do our job defensively, we have the freedom to do what we do going forward.
"It is a real shame that we could not do that earlier in the season. But that is football. We are playing well as a team now. Hopefully we can do enough to stay up and then reassess in the summer."
